
Obituary of Carol R. Phelan
CAROL R. PHELAN
Loudonville - Carol R. Phelan, 82 of Loudonville, beloved wife of Philip B. Phelan, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3rd, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.
Born on November 16th 1942, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Katherine (Kirwan) Reuss. Raised in Albany, Carol graduated from Vincentian Institute, Class of 1960. Carol married Philip Phelan on November 27th 1965, cherishing 59 years of marriage before her passing.
Carol was a Transportation Assistant for the Federal Highway Administration for twenty years before retiring in 2000.
In addition to her husband, survivors of Carol include her three loving children, Patrick (Rene) Phelan, Lynne (Michael) Shaw, and Dr. Daniel (Dr. Donna) Phelan, her siblings John Reuss, Miriam Davenport, Catherine Dillon, and her sister-in-law, Margaret Kandoian. Carol leaves behind her nine cherished grandchildren, Kevin (Alyssa), Zachary and Andrew Shaw, Kerrigan (Chris), Shannon, Meagan, Katie, Courtney and Michael Phelan.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, February 10th, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.
Carol's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 12th, 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham.
Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
