Obituary of Anna M. Torres

ANNA M. TORRES

LOUDONVILLE - Anna M. (Annunziato) Torres, 82 of Loudonville, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Daughters of Sarah Community for Seniors in Albany with her loving and devoted family at her side.

Born in the Ozone Park neighborhood of Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Kowaleski) Annunziato.

Anna began her career as a telephone operator before stepping away to dedicate her time to raising her four children. After moving to upstate New York, she found her passion in the restaurant industry, first opening Anna's Soup and Sandwich Shoppe and later establishing the beloved Countryside Diner. Her warmth and dedication to serving others made her restaurants a cherished part of the community.

Anna loved playing Mahjong, cards, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. She also had a special talent for growing plants from the tiniest seed or root, a true reflection of her caring and nurturing nature. She loved traveling to Tampa, Florida, where she formed deep and lasting friendships, especially with Ben and Adeline who were great caregivers at times when she was away from family. Anna's memory will live on forever in the hearts of those she loved. She will always be remembered for her warm wit, strength and beautiful blue eyes. Of all the things that brought her joy in this world, the two things that she cherished most deeply were her family and her faith. May she rest in eternal peace.

Anna is survived by her large and loving family which includes her children Gerald Torres (Nalani), Anthony Torres, AnnaMarie Ieraci (Dominick) and Michael Torres (Dawn), her grandchildren Gerald Torres (Jennifer), Andrew Torres (Annalee), Anthony Torres, Dominic Torres, Gabrielle Gardenier (Benjamin), Marissa Ieraci, Danielle Torres and Dominick Ieraci and great-grandchildren Augustus and Lily Torres. Also survived by her former husband Gerald W. Torres, her siblings Rosemarie Fredericks (Roger), Bernadette Flatley (Thomas) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her late parents Anna is predeceased by her siblings Thomas Annunziato, Anthony Annunziato, Carl Annunziato, Joseph Annunziato, Alex Annunziato, Carmela Donato, David Annunziato and John Annunziato.

Anna's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to AnnaMarie, Dominick, Gabrielle, Marissa and Dominick for their unwavering love, care, and devotion during her last years. We are deeply grateful for the selflessness you showed while providing her care during this difficult time.
