Obituary of Gilbert D. Lindgren
GILBERT D. LINDGREN
LATHAM - Gilbert David Lindgren, 73, of Latham, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at Hudson Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Albany.
Born in 1951, Gil was the beloved son of the late Edwin and Margaret (Austin) Lindgren. He was a proud graduate of Shaker High School, Class of 1969, and went on to earn his degree from Cobleskill Community College in 1971.
A hardworking man Gil built a life rooted in craftsmanship and care. He worked in construction, landscaping, and remodeling, and was a skilled heavy equipment operator.
Beyond his work, Gil was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for music and movement—he was especially fond of ballroom dancing and could often be found playing the piano or challenging friends to a game of pool. He was also known for his appreciation of a good meal and became a true local diner connoisseur over the years.
Gil is survived by his loving sons, Scott Lindgren and Jacob Lindgren (Karley); his cherished grandchildren, Mason and Logan Lindgren; and his devoted sisters, Peggy Lindgren, Jane Bouchard (Paul), Sue Sullivan (Dan), and Lorraine Shkursky (Ed). He is also remembered fondly by his nephew, Cody Sullivan, many cousins, and by Sherry Lindgren, the mother of his children.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a prayer service at 12:00 PM, all at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.
