Thomas Fletcher

Obituary of Thomas Michael Fletcher

LATHAM - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved father, papa and friend whose warmth and happiness touched all who knew him.

Thomas M. Fletcher, 75, of Latham, passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2026 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.

Thomas was the kind of person who made others feel instantly welcome. His smile came easily, his laughter was genuine, and his presence brought comfort. No matter who he was with, he always had a way of making people feel at home.

Thomas was born on October 23rd, 1950, to Ralph and Elizabeth (Winkler) Fletcher. He was born and raised in Rochester, NY. Thomas leaves behind his wife, Patricia Shoemaker; his two children, Jeremy Fletcher of Orlando and Amanda Fletcher (Cody Pine) of Latham; and his beloved grandson Kyler Pine. He is survived by his siblings, Kathy Fletcher, Sue Koch (John), Nancy Reinhardt (Marty), John (Carolyn) Fletcher and Jim (Libby) Fletcher, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Douglas (Suzy) Fletcher.

He loved many things in life, but few more than the game of golf. The course was his happy place – where he found joy, challenge and an audience for his endless amount of dad jokes. The only thing he loved more than golf was spending time with his grandson. The love he had for him was unmistakable and profound.

Thomas lived with an open heart, always having a joke ready to lighten the mood, choosing kindness and connection in all that he did. His happiness was contagious, his generosity endless, his sincerity effortless and his love unwavering.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who were lucky enough to know him. While we mourn his loss, we are eternally grateful for the love he gave so freely and the memories that will forever live in our hearts.
