Obituary of Louise Irene Ryan
LOUDONVILLE - Louise Irene Ryan, age 99, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, on The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Robert Ryan.
Born and raised in Nashua, NH on August 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Irene (Vadeboncoeur) Villeneuve. She graduated from Nashua HS in 1945 and went on to work for the State of New Hampshire Employment Office where she met her husband, Richard. They married in 1950. In 1953, they moved their growing family to Albany, NY and thence Loudonville, NY. After raising her children, Louise began working at NAPA Distribution Center in Colonie where she remained for 15 years.
During retirement, Louise lived 27 years in Clifton Park where she enjoyed many cherished times with good friends. They could often be found out and about for lunch dates, enjoying movies, and traveling. During this time, she also dedicated efforts to volunteering at The Albany Institute of History and Art as well as serving as a Literacy Volunteer. In 2014, Louise returned to live in Loudonville in her much-loved in-law apartment where she could be close to family.
Louise is survived by her children Frances (CJ) O'Rourke of Loudonville, Mary Ann (Jon McClelland) Ryan of Voorheesville, Patricia (Douglas) Brown of Rowayton, Ct., Michael (Christel) Ryan of Crossville, TN, and Kathleen Ryan of California. Louise was the proud Grandmother of 13 grandchildren and the proudest Great Grandmother of 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to her late parents and husband, Louise is predeceased by her beloved sons Richard Arthur Ryan and Dennis Patrick Ryan. She was also predeceased by her sisters Priscilla (Haven) and Claire (Dumaine) as well as her brother Charles Villeneuve.
Louise's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of both Albany Medical Center (specifically Floor C6) and Community Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services for Louise on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd., Loudonville, NY. The visitation will be held in the chapel from 9:00 to 9:45 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial in the main church with Reverend James Walsh, celebrant. Interment and Rite of Committal to immediately follow the mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
