JOSEPH E. LeBOEUF JR.
Latham -- Joseph E. LeBoeuf, Jr., 59, passed away at Samaritan Hospital on April 18, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Joe was born in Cohoes, NY on March 20, 1953 and graduated from Shaker High School. After high school, he worked for Ford Motor Company and the NYS Office of General Services and was a former member of the West Crescent Firehouse.
Joe married the love of his life, Maria Piazza LeBoeuf, on May 19, 1985. He was the loving father of Joann (Mark) Dion, Carla (Jeffery) Czarnecki and grandfather of Brandon Belonga and Jeffery Czarnecki. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Anne Piazza, best friend Dan Seguin, cousins and his much loved yorkie, Reine.
Joe was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in March 2008 and after completing surgery and chemotherapy, he custom built a vending truck which he named the "Chili Pot for Cancer." Over the next 4 years, "Chili Joe" as he was called, enjoyed selling his chili and food items and donated much of the profits to the American Cancer Society. He also volunteered to teach ballroom dancing at Hope Club (formerly Gilda's Club) on Monday nights.
Joe was always willing to help out anyone in need and had many friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering to be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A luncheon reception in honor of Joe's life will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joe may be made to either Hope Club at 1 Penny Lane Latham NY 12110 or the Northeast Kidney Foundation at 99 Troy Road East Greenbush, NY 12061.
