MARGARET AGNES SWEENEY
Latham- Margaret Agnes Sweeney, 71 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Michael Sweeney, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Thomas and Mary Rose (Grobecker) Hanley.
Margaret was an Infant Care Technician for over 10 years at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City until she left to become a full time mother. She has resided in Latham for most of her life and was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Watervliet.
Survivors include her loving children Michael P.J. (Katie LaFountain) Sweeney of Menands and Mary Ann (Tim) Sweeney Curley of Dublin, Ireland, She was the cherished grandmother of William Curley of Ireland, Dear Sister of Mary Ellen Hanley of Watervliet, Joseph "Gene" (Andrea) Hanley of Loudonville, Thomas (Jane) Hanley of Latham, John (Jane) Hanley of Clifton Park, Maureen Ehmann of Mt. Morris, and Christopher (Lynn) Hanley of Clifton Park. She also leaves behind her Canine Companion Petey as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her Sister Patricia Capuano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 10:00 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church 2416 7th Avenue, Watervliet with Rev. Edward Deimeke officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
Interment will be next to her husband Michael in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.
