Obituary of Mary Ellen Reddy

Latham- Mary Ellen Reddy, 71, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Ellis Hospital, in Schenectady. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen G. (Geary) Reddy. Throughout her life she always chose careers that furthered the education and lives of others. She was a school teacher at the Adult Learning Center in Cohoes for over 10 years prior to her retirement. Mary Ellen also taught at the Coxsackie Prison for the Department New York State Correction for many years. Mary Ellen lived a life of giving. She was known for her big heart, and her extraordinary gift of selflessness. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and Sudoku. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church and formerly of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, both in Latham. Survivors include her loving children Christopher M. Orapello of Saratoga Springs and Catherine Caswell of Gray, ME, her cherished grandson Hayden Kendall, her brother William Reddy of CT and she is also survived by her nephew Joseph Reddy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Anthony Barratt officiating.
