EVELYN B. SCOTT
Latham- Evelyn B. Scott, 74 of Latham, beloved wife of the late David J. Scott, passed away peacefully Friday March 20, 2015 in the comfort of her home with her daughter by her side.
Born on June 7, 1940, in Oneonta, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Jesse and Dawn (Palmer) Baker.
Evelyn was a graduate of Oneonta High School and Hartwick College where she earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics. After graduation, she became an engineering aide, employed by General Electric in Schenectady for several years. After leaving the workforce she dedicated herself as a loving homemaker raising her daughter and tending to her family's needs.
She is survived by her loving daughter Jacqueline Scott and her husband Ricardo Metz of Northampton, MA., her cherished grandsons Ethan and Aidan Metz, her sister Edith Baker of Johnson City, NY, her nieces Dawn, Jeannine, Cari, Jessie Ann; her nephews Rich, Brett and Kent. Evelyn was predeceased by her siblings Jesse George Baker, Roscoe Baker, Jean Baker, Dawn Butts and Elizabeth Altenhofen. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews and cousins from her late husband David.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial calling hour on Friday March 27, from 5- 6 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham.
