Obituary of Joyce (Wisniewski) McCarthy

Colonie- Joyce McCarthy, beloved wife of Bryan McCarthy and the late Francis Wisniewski, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Born in Albany on May 17, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Abe and Marion (Smith) Van DerLinden. Joyce was employed at Sears and Key Bank. She was a member of the Polish-American Club in Albany and was active for many years at St. Casmir's Church and also taught catechism at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. In addition to her loving husband Bryan; she is survived by her loving children: Nancy (Bruce) Quay, Christine (Joseph Cuccaro) Frankovic, Francis (Michele) Wisniewski Jr. and step son Bryan (Sarah Sokol) McCarthy Jr. Seven cherished grandchildren: Morgan, Dylan and Jacob Quay, Rachel and Sarah Frankovic, Katie Wisniewski and Gianna Bredice as well as her siblings Gary (Phyllis) VanDerLinden, Tina VanDerLinden, Brian (Joanne) VanDerLinden and Lori (Mark) Dorry; Brother in law: Mac (Nancy) McCarthy, Kevin (Paula) McCarthy and Sister in law Cheryl (Matthew) Lopresti, several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 9:00-12:00 noon at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville Joyce's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12:30 immediately following the visitation at the church with Fr. James Walsh officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 Interment will take place in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Albany.
