Obituary of Francis "Frank" J. Castle

FRANCIS "FRANK" J. CASTLE Cohoes- Francis "Frank" J. Castle, 75 of Cohoes passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy on October 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Frank A. and Regina P. (Bessmer) Castle. He graduated from Watervliet High School. Frank proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS St. Paul from 1960-1964. He was married to the former AnneMarie E. Colaruotolo and the two had shared a devoted union of almost 49 years together. Frank was a Machinist with Nashua Tape in Watervliet for over 25 years. He then worked as a Custodian at the Lansing Elementary School in Cohoes for 10 years. Frank truly loved the outdoors especially the Adirondacks. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Taconic Valley Rod & Gun Club, National Rifle Association and the NYS Muzzleloading Association. In addition to his beloved wife AnneMarie, he is survived by his loving son Christopher J. (Carol) Castle of Watervliet, cherished granddaughter: Natalie C. Castle and devoted sister Regina Favata of Niskayuna. Frank is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday August 21, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday August 22 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Fr. Peter Tkocz officiating. Due to cemetery floral restrictions, memorial contributions can be made in Frank's memory to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 1 Computer Dr. S #104, Albany, NY 12205.
