DAVID SAMUEL JAMES III
Loudonville- David Samuel James III, 79 of Loudonville, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
Born in Wilmington, DE on October 12, 1938, he was the son of the late David Samuel II and Margaret (Golden) James. David grew up in Queens and has been a resident of Colonie since 1962. He was a graduate of St. John's University in Queens with a Degree in Business Administration and received a Master's degree in Psychology from Russell Sage and a Masters in Business Administration from Siena College. He was married to the former Lillian Troll on June 11, 1960 and shared 58 years of love and devotion prior to his passing.
David was the former President & Owner of Rensselaer Honda in Troy for over 40 years. In his earlier years he was a C.P.A. at Peat-Marwick & Mitchell in New York City. He taught accounting at Siena College for several years in both the undergraduate and Master's Program. He was a member of the Dominican Sisters, the Roman Catholic Diocesan School Board & Family Life. He was the former area chair of the Upstate Order of Malta, Chair of The Marriage Jubilee for 25 years and Chair of the Marriage Retorno. David was a communicant of St. Pius x Church where he served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a Eucharistic Minister at Memorial Hospital and Lay Chaplain at Samaritan and St. Peter's Hospital. Davis was also a member of the Wolferts Roost Country Club for many years.
In addition to his beloved wife Lillian, he is survived by his loving children Andrew James of Ballston Spa, Laura (Walter) Lalak of Clifton Park, Lisa (Ron) Benanto of Ballston Spa and Matthew (Shannon) James of Clifton Park as well as his 12 cherished grandchildren Lauren James, Nathan James, Blake Race, Shane (Ja) Race, Dana Race, Alex Lalak, Casey Lalak, Brandon Benanto, Katie Benanto, Jack James, Margaret James and Sean James. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday September 16, 2018 from 3:00-7:00 pm. at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville.
David's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 17 at 10:00 am at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonville with Fr. Michael Farano officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in David's memory to AAMDS for research, 4330 East West Highway, Suite 230, Bethesda, MD 20814 or donate blood at your local Red Cross
Interment will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
