Obituary of Santa Zadoorian

SANTA ZADOORIAN Scotia- Santa, "Grandma Z" Zadoorian, 105, of Scotia, NY, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2018 in Spring Hill, Florida. Santa, affectionately known to all as Grandma Z, was born in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of Gennaro Patricelli and Antonia DeSimone on September 9, 1913. Santa was the owner of Santa's Beauty Salon in downtown Schenectady for 30 years. Santa greatly enjoyed Sundays and holidays with her family, date nights with Leo and her homemade Whiskey Sours. Grandma Z was the matriarch of the Zadoorian family. She was loved, admired and respected for her courage, independence and strength of character and revered for her profoundly simply life lessons that have left lasting impacts on her family members. Santa is survived by her son Jan (Joanne) Zadoorian of Hudson, Fl., five grandchildren, Steve (Cindy) Zadoorian, Jan (Lisa) Zadoorian, James (Deborah) Zadoorian, Chris Zadoorian, David (Tiffany) Zadoorian, and six great grandchildren, Alyxis, Briana, Andrew, Zoe, Wyatt and Riley Zadoorian. Santa is preceded in death by her siblings and in-laws, Louise (Mert) Diamante, Mary Cuomo, Nick (Grace) Padrocelli and her longtime friend, Leo Feldman. A private service will be held at the Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY, 12110 at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Schenectady Rd., Schenectady, NY, 12309.
