Obituary of Chester F. Sherwin

CHESTER F. SHERWIN Latham-Chester F. Sherwin, 86 of Latham, beloved husband of Lourdes T. Bowes Sherwin, entered into eternal life on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late John and Melvina Sherwin. He was a graduate of Troy High School. Mr. Sherwin married his beloved Lourdes "Lou" T. Bowes on August 31, 1946 in Cohoes, and the two have shared a blessed marriage for over 63 years. Chet was a Test Desk Technician, employed by NYNEX in Albany for many years until retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192, the Colonie Seniors Golf League, the Telephone Pioneers of America and a former member of the Boght Fire Company. He enjoyed bowling and was formerly a member of several leagues at Latham Bowl. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children Richard (Margaret) Sherwin of Delmar, Ronald (Sharon) Sherwin of Nashville, TN and Robin (Bruce) Coplin of Delmar, his cherished grandchildren Richard (Kristin) Sherwin, Kathryn Sherwin, Abigail Coplin and Halley Coplin and his new angel and great granddaughter Ava Rose Sherwin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 28, at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois, pastor officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
