I grew up in Latham and knew the Meehan Family well as a boy since they lived at the corner of my street, Summit Ave on Park Avenue. Chuck and Billy Luke, his good friend, worked at Billy's family service station and kept my old junker 1949 Chevy running well for a couple of years. Chuck, as well as Billy, were really great examples to us younger guys with their hard work, great spirit, moral living, and community love. Chuck worked hard to afford Siena College and went on to have a successful career in education. Billy died young and reminded all of us as Christians to remember how well he lived his short life and is consequently so well remembered, as is Chuck with his wonderful, complete life married to B. Jane (Sheehy) Meehan. Rest in Peace my friends.
