Obituary of James R. Gordon

JAMES R. GORDON Latham- James R. Gordon, 59 of Latham passed away peacefully after a long battle with Glioblastoma (Cancerous Brain Tumor) on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany on February 8, 1959, he was the son of the late Robert Gordon and Evelyn (Ackley) Gordon of Albany. Jim was married to Cathleen (Dillon) Gordon on August 8, 1996 and shared a devoted union of 22 years prior to his passing. Jim was a Special Education Teacher with the Schenectady City School District, retiring in 2016 after 33 years of dedicated service. Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father and son. In addition to his beloved wife Cathleen, he is survived by his loving daughter Caitlin Gordon at home, his mother Evelyn Gordon of Albany as well as his sister Nancy Daly of Syracuse, sister in law Colleen Dillon of Clifton Park, a niece and nephew and his canine companion Oreo. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday November 9 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday November 10 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. David Preisinger officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
