To Pat's family,
Sorry I did not know of Pat's passing until I saw her name being honored at the Memorial Hospital Volunteer Luncheon yesterday. I volunteered with Pat for many years at the hospital and was very fond of her. Would also visit her at Hawthorne.
Please accept my sincere condolences. I have many dear memories of this lovely lady. She was a loving and giving person and is missed.
Sincerely,
Mary Lou Flavin

My wife and I have fond memories of Pat visiting us at our apartment in California on a number of trips she made to California. She would like to sit by the pool with my mom, with her feet in the water, sunning herself and passing the time away. Pat's positive attitude always made you feel better and more relaxed after spending time with her. We will miss her.
Love,
Eugene and Yuko O'Brien

My utmost condolences goes out to the Brown boys and their families. Very sorry for your mom's passing. She was the ultimate sweetheart with a sincere and genuine kindness matched by none other. I loved this woman. An Irish Matriarch to her sons, she treated me with open arms and a loving soul. It is because of people like this that one may still believe there is hope for this world. I am very thankful to have known her and to have made it back east two years ago after so many years away, sitting down with her and Tommy for a lengthy and memorable chat. I am truly thankful for that. All one has to do is take a look at her sons, the respect and the morals they own and exhibit....and realize this notion simply reflects and reinforces the fact the she was a superb mother and a wonderful teacher of life's values. A person's voice is like a song, a unique melody if desirable, one never forgets the words, the harmony or the meaning. I won't forget you Mrs. Brown, your song will be often playing in my head. Not always, but I can play it any time I wish. What I am saying is....good energy never really does leave us, does it? I hope you are in a good place and gearing up for St Patty's Day. My heart sorrows. Luv ya dearly.

Aunt Pat was my godmother, and I always felt a special connection to her. She was positive, joyful and so funny, and it was always a treat to be in her company. I am thankful for all of my happy memories of her.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are gatherings with my mother (Nora O'Brien), Grandmother (O'Brien) and Aunt Pat. The stories of our family are held in my heart forever along with the Irish accents that thickened when they were together. I was fortunate to spend time at Aunt Pat's home throughout my childhood and while I was in college. One of my favorite people has joined with our family in heaven and is already sharing stories of old and new. You will always be loved and remembered Aunt Pat.

Although Pat was our first cousin, she was more like a sister to our family. Our families, the O'Briens, the Courtneys and our grandparents, the Caseys, lived very close together in a five block area of the South Bronx. We have so many fond memories of our beloved Pat. We will miss Pat dearly. "Good bye Love".

I haven’t cried in a long time but I did today when my sister gave me the news that Pat was gone and I am crying while I write this. I am going to miss her very much. We are first cousins, but I considered her my sister and my friend. We are of the same family background. She, her brother Jimmy and I grew up together in the Bronx. We shared many of the same memories of our childhood, the stories of our family, our grandfather and grandmother, her father, mother, and mine. Pat was the only person I know who called me Johnny. She was a great mom and grandmother and they will miss her every day as will every one of us who enjoyed her presence.
