PAUL MICHAEL SCOONS
Loudonville-Paul Michael Scoons, 72 of Loudonville, entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Albany, on February 13, 1947, he was the son of the late Paul and Harriet (Henk) Scoons. Mike was a graduate of Shaker High School class of 1964. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy from July 12, 1966 to April 02, 1970 stationed in the Pacific on the U.S.S. Ramsey and U.S.S. New Jersey. Mike was an avid reader; he loved his New York Yankees, crossword puzzles, going to Sprucehead, Maine with his soul mate Pam and taking long walks. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years prior to his retirement.
Survivors include his love Pam Wahrman Couch, his stepchildren Eric Guenther and Gretchen (Kristen) Guenther-Collins, his grandchildren Justice and Danielle Scoons, and Ryan Collins, three great-grandchildren, and special friend Skip Morris. Mike was predeceased by his son Daniel Scoons and wife Marilyn Farrell Scoons.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 5, 2019 at 11:00am in the Cathedral of All Saints 62 South Swan St. Albany, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday November 4, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
Interment with full military honors will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Lisa Galati, Dr. Courtney Carpenter, Dan Kayajian, Laura Jones, and the Albany Medical Center ICU team for the love and compassion given to Mike while under their care.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations in memory of Mike be made to the American Legion New York Department 1304 Park Boulevard Troy NY 12180 or the Paralyzed Veterans of America 245 W Houston St, New York, NY 10014.
