Growing up in the neighborhood with all the balzer kids there was always something going on. But I remember the day they poured a concrete patio off their back door. I was maybe 10 years old and didn't know the concrete was wet and stepped on it. I know he was very upset but never set a cross word to me or yelled at me about it. He showed me such kindness even though I messed up his patio. He was a wonderful and loving man.
