To the Evans' Family: I am so very sorry for your loss. Doug lived at my parents part time for a number of years when he worked at the Hartford Golf Club, and I have nothing but fond memories of him. He was a good and honorable guy. Always quick with a laugh or a funny story....he was a real good dude. I am sad to hear of his untimely passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was on the phone with a co-worker today and was sadden to hear the news.
I can remember the first day I met him.
Tracie invited us to a Play Golf America Kick-off event in 2004.
I thought Doug was an intern and found out that he would be working on staff with Tracie.
He would keep us updated on Baby news in the office.
He always had a smile and never forgot a name.
The golf community has lost a family member.
My sincerest condolences go out to Doug's friends, family, and the PGA & Junior Golfers.

Doug was a very kind and helpful person. He was always so pleasant every time I met him and my son Jimmy thought the world of him. We always felt so comfortable leaving our son at a tournament with him because he would watch out for all the kids!
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Evans family.

We are shocked and saddened to learn of Doug’s passing. He was such a nice person, and did a fantastic job with all of the tournaments, especially for the Juniors. He seemed to be everywhere in the region, we would often run into him in the most unlikely places. He always had time for a friendly chat, and words of encouragement for the Juniors. He was a wonderful role model. The kids looked up to and respected him, even when he had tough news for them when it came to playing by the rules. However brief his presence with them was, he made a lasting difference in their lives. We will miss him.
Our condolences go out to all of his family, on and off the golf course.

As the father of two NENY junior golfers it breaks my heart to learn of Doug’s passing. His dedication to the kids positively impacted so many families over the years. A true steward of the game and utmost gentlemen, his friendly face will be sorely missed.
