RAYMOND P. VAN SLEET Latham- Raymond P. Van Sleet, 83 of Latham, beloved husband of Mary Gendron Van Sleet, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 29, 2009. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Raymond F. and Lena Van Sleet. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Van Sleet was a graduate of Siena College in Loudonville with a BBA degree in Accounting. He was a Auditor, employed by Cluett-Peabody & Co. in Troy for many years and retired in 1987. Raymond was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. He was a member of the Latham-Colonie Knights of Columbus and the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192. He enjoyed golfing and fishing in the company of his sons. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years Mary (Gendron) Van Sleet his loving children Karen (Denzil) Showers of Madison WI, Mark (Betty) Van Sleet of Lake Worth FL, Eric Van Sleet of Latham and William (Donna) Van Sleet of Latham. his cherished grandchildren Dara and Stefen Showers and his dear friend, Sharon Sulz. He was predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Buff and Joan Kelly. A celebration of his life will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.
