HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR

Duanesburg-Peter Charles Lacijan, Sr., 81, passed away on Monday, January 18th, 2021, from complications after suffering a stroke. Born in Hackensack, NJ on February 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Peter J. Lacijan and Frances Verbich Lacijan.
Peter grew up in the Fly Creek Valley in New York State, graduating from Cooperstown High School in 1958. He was a 1960 graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, where he was a member of Zeta Alpha Phi fraternity and was President of the Orange Key Society.
After graduation, Peter was stationed in Dover, Delaware as a member of the Air Force where he proudly served for four years. After being honorably discharged, he relocated to the Capital District.
He was the owner and operator of a Hess gas station in Latham, NY for a few years before joining American Airlines as a Fleet Service Clerk. He retired in 2002 after 34 years of service.
Peter had been a resident of Duanesburg, NY for the past 35 years. He took great pride and pleasure in tending his gentleman's farm, maintaining the property and providing a safe and happy home to horses, in particular the late Teddy and the late Jake.
Before COVID restrictions were in place, Pete enjoyed an active social life, meeting daily with his coffee klatch of friends at a local diner or Stewarts. He stayed in contact with a small group of friends from high school, with whom he'd meet for occasional lunch gatherings. He was most content to enjoy his home, watching the wild animals and fish on his property or tinkering with his 1937 Pontiac and taking it for an occasional spin. Pete was most proud of his family and their accomplishments.
Peter is survived by his sister, Eileen Konchar of Oneonta; his sons Peter C. (Melissa) of Halfmoon, NY; Daniel J. (Julie) of Clifton Park, NY; and Patrick J. (Christie) of Ballston Spa, NY; and by his longtime domestic partner LouAnn Tubb and her children: "JR" Tubb (Blanche), Cindy Mumpower (Gene), Christine Tubb, and James (Liz) Tubb. Peter is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew. He was pre-deceased by his parents, a brother-in-law Bill Konchar, and a grandson, Shane Daniel Lacijan.
