Obituary of Marion F. Thornton

MARION F. THORNTON
Troy-Born in Troy NY, March 22, 1942. Marion (Mickey) Thornton was the daughter of the late
William Tereski Sr. and Marion (Eddy) Tereski.
Mickey owned and operated her own pet salon, Mickey's Grooming. She loved working with
animals and had numerous affiliations with local animal rescues. Also worked closely with Troy
Police Department Animal Control Officer Kevin McDonough.
Prior to the grooming salon Mickey was loved by many while working at Bob's Diner in
Watervliet, as well as the owner of Mickeys Subs in Watervliet.
Mickey also had other life achievements such as a phlebotomist. She touched many lives with
her beautiful soul and spirit. She was the president and active member of her neighborhood
watch committee. She loved her neighbors and had a special relationship with Donna and Frank and considered them extended family. A special thanks from Mickey's family for the love and care expressed over the years by them.
Mickey also volunteered for the Waterford Rescue Squad, the Troy Boys and Girl's club
concession stand alongside her sister and best friend Penny. Together Penny and Mickey also
enjoyed outings at the Racino and operated "Two Sisters Catering". A Special Thanks to her
co-workers, customers and friends whom she held close to her heart.
In addition to her loving daughter Nancy and husband Thomas Patrizio, she is survived by her
siblings (sister) Penny and husband Matthew Duncan, (brother) William and wife Beth Tereski
Jr., Mickey also had two step-grandsons, Jonathan and wife Marlee Patrizio Brooklyn NY.,
Thomas Patrizio Jr. Thailand. She also leaves behind her companion John Gowett and they're
beloved fur-babies Cholie and Max. Mickey was also loved by her nieces, nephews and great
nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to send a special thanks to Saratoga Hospital's staff for the loving and respectful care provided.
