My condolences to both Jack’s personal family and his work family. I had occasion to meet him when I worked as an attorney for the Office of the State Comptroller, and found him to be a learned and delightful man.
I was sorry to hear of John’s passing. My sympathies and condolences to the Tabner Family. Over the years I had many dealings and negotiations with John. He was always a fair and consummate advocate in business and always had a gentleman’s wit, a kind word and was a pleasure to be around. He is another member of the “Greatest Generation” gone from us and may he Rest In Peace.
To Kate and the rest of the Tabner family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Your dad had an incredible life, as his obituary shows clearly and he has a lasting legacy in his children and grandchildren. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Jack was a capable and excellent attorney as well as a potent opponent. A very respected member of the Bar. He was also a decent, honest politician and this coming from a Democratic adversary!
