Obituary of Robert George McDermott

ROBERT GEORGE McDERMOTT Suisun City, CA.-Robert G. McDermott, son of the late John and Doris McDermott, passed away March 4 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Bob was a 1954 graduate of LaSalle Institute in Troy and an 8 year US Air Force veteran; he retired from AT&T. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Sharlane, and their son, Marc (Gwen) of Beaverton, OR; his sisters, Jackie (Mike) Caulfield, Dianne (Vince) DeMidio, both of Stillwater, NY; Marian McDermott of Arlington, MA; and his brother Brian (Valarie) McDermott of Mullens, SC. Bob was the much loved uncle and granduncle to several nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Bob was active in the Elks, a past Grand Knight in the K of C; he was a pilot, loved flying and became a mentor for the Young Eagles. He leaves a score of friends besides his family who mourn his passing. Interment with full military honors will be in the Gerald Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
