We loved Sister Ruth. She taught our 2 daughters at St. Patrick's and I volunteered to be her assistant for those 2 years. She was a wonderful teacher and the kids loved her. I came to know Sister Ruth more over those years and she became a good friend. Many years later when my own parents passed away she came to their wakes.
When my 2 daughters learned of her passing they said they could imagine Sister leading the angels in some dances up in heaven and my immediate thought was that she was put in charge of a heavenly garden.
You were a great blessing in our lives Sister Ruth! Enjoy your eternal rest and joy. I hope to see you again when God calls me home.

How does one express how another makes them feel in a few sentences? I have met hundreds of people and have had a long list of teachers. I have continually thought of Sister Ruth . She taught me first grade. From the first Dick & Jane book my passion for reading was ignited. To this day I still have it. I credit her with teaching me to read, to believe in myself and to own up if I have done something wrong. The knowledge she has given me will continue to be used and appreciated. We are all better for knowing her. Peace to her family.

To the family of Sister Ruth:
Sister Ruth was a dear friend, wonderful teacher and a great inspiration to our Lupica, Adey and Powers families here in Rome. I personally will never forget her kindness to us when my little daughter, Michelle Adey, died many years ago. She read a beautiful passage at her funeral and was always there with her quiet presence during that difficult time. May the angels come to greet her and may she now enjoy her eternal reward in heaven.

Sr. Ruth was a beautiful lady inside and out. During a time in our lives when we needed a friend to help us through things, she was there for our family...keeping us smiling through the sadness. She helped pull life into perspective for us and helped us to be brave. I cherish her memory. She was a precious person who put others first. My parents thought the world of her, especially my Mom, who she visited when she was ill, with her smiley and spiritual self to cheer my Mom up. My prayers that they are sitting together, having a cup of tea and catching up on things. The world has lost a shining gem, but she's busy watching us all and claiming the wings that she earned on Earth.
