Obituary of JoAnn P. Gerace
JOANN P. GERACE
Latham- JoAnn P. Gerace, 85 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Dominic Carmelo Gerace., entered into eternal life suddenly on Friday, April 23, 2021 at her home in Latham with her loving family at her side. .
Born in Albany, on November 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (LaRosa) Platania. JoAnn was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names in Albany. She married Dominic Carmelo Gerace on June 22, 1963 and the two shared a beautiful marriage of over 57 years prior to his passing February 19, 2021. She worked for several years at Blue Cross / Blue Shield in Albany and later was a sales associate, employed by Macy's and Jordan Marsh at Crossgates in Albany. JoAnn was a longtime communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham.
Survivors include her loving son Joseph Gerace, her cherished grandchildren Destiny Tribley, Manny Tribley, Madison Tribley and Anastasia Gerace, great grandson Landyn Tribley her son-in-law Douglas Tribley.
She was predeceased by her daughter Marianne Tribley and brother Joseph Platania Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Brian Kelly on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church 347 Old Loudon Rd. Latham.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home on Monday April 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Interment will be with her husband in Saratoga National Cemetery on Thursday, April 29th, 2021, at 12:30pm.
