Thank you Mary S. for taking a young married couple in to your own home in order to give us a few months to find a job and a home to start out our life together,[ October 1963> 58 years ago.] The fond memories of all the fun we had on the many 4th of July times at the Farm are ones that always bring a smile. Also thank you for the help you gave me as a young mother with Dee. Our friendship as sister in laws in the Marsh Family for so many decades will always be valued by me and remembered well. It is with a heavy heart that I compose this homage to a lovely lady who we have lost to this world of ours. She played numerous roles in her long life- first off mother, then grandmother and great-grandmother, daughter, wife, woman of faith, scholar, aunt, sister in law, neighbor, friend, traveler, saratoga winner, facebook commentor, avid reader, snow bird, shell seeker and so many more. Each walked with graceful steps. She also became the Keeper of Memories for the Marsh family with her constructed with love photo albums full of pictures of family history and events. In her honor I ask you to think of a memory you have that you shared with her. Then like the glistening glimmer of a seashell at the ocean wave's edge - pick it up, place it in your palm and cherish it for a moment. Please place it in your "pocket" to be kept always on your mind's shelf. I believe she would smile at each of those glimpses. I picture her now walking the shore while the sun rises and sets with her arm embraced gently in her first son's grasp. A long life well lived but still gone too soon. Thank you for our last time spent together. We will miss you Aunt Mary - rest now and until we walk the shore again together, as always, Peace

The loss of our dearest sister in law, who was to the Marsh Family the matriarch. She possessed a caring, supportive, loving and a non condescending attitude to all who sort her advise. Mary always filled her conversations with her signature cackling laughter. She always listened intensively but would never be judgmental. It is her quality of life that those in the Marsh should emulate and share with the generations to follow. Gaby and I will truly miss her love and encouragement.
