WILLIAM A. VONDELL
New Mexico- William A. VonDell, 68 of Edgewood, New Mexico passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Hospice at Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany.
Born in Springfield Mass on December 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Alfred L. and Matilda (Bodah) VonDell. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He was employed by American Airlines working with the Ground Crew. Bill retired after 36 years and 1 day of service.
Bill was a member of the American Legion Post #13 in Albuquerque New Mexico. He loved Las Vegas and hunting. He was also on the Chase Crew for the Albuquerque Balloon Festival for several years.
He is survived by his loving children; W. Ronald (Elizabeth) VonDell of Watervliet, Darlene A. VonDell of Latham, Christina L. VonDell of Voorheesville and Patrick R. VonDell of Voorheesville, he is also survived by 3 cherished granddaughters; Samantha, Eva & Laura as well as his cousin Joan (Michael) O'Gara and special friends Pamela & Owen Bennett of Latham and Linda Sparling of Edgewood, NM
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. with Fr. Francis DuBois officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Legion Post #927, 35 Cohoes Ave. Green Island 12183 or American Legion Post #13, 1201 Mountain Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102
Interment will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
