Please share a memory of Joanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joanne J. Carroll, 60, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, July 3, 2021, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Troy on September 8, 1960, Joanne was the daughter of the late Mary Ann (Pezzula) Mancinelli of Latham and the late Anthony C. Mancinelli, also of Latham. Joanne's education was primarily in the North Colonie Central School District where she graduated from Shaker High School in 1978. Upon graduation, Joanne took employment with the New York State Department of Health until her retirement in 2015. During her 37- year career, Joanne worked in several areas of the State Health Department including the Bureau of Budget Management, Office of Health Systems Management, Office of the Commissioner and the Bureau of Personnel Management. Joanne was highly regarded in every position she held, beginning as an entry level stenographer and ending her career as an Assistant Director.
Joanne found happiness in many things, including traveling, gardening, reading and shopping. Joanne loved spending time with friends and family, those both old and new, near and far. Joanne's most recent and precious love was her beautiful granddaughter, Mia Pearl Stubblebine. During her most difficult and painful moments, Mia always brought a smile to her face and a happy tear to her eyes. Joanne will truly live on through Mia along with all who loved and cherished her.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Michael Carroll of Latham; her loving son William Stubblebine, his wife Layla Stubblebine and granddaughter Mia Pearl Stubblebine of Troy; her sisters and brother, Nancy (Edward) Doherty of Georgia, Mary Ellen (Michael) Reo of Wynantskill and Christopher (Colleen) Mancinelli of Hopewell Junction. She is also survived by her lifetime best friend Virginia (Bill) Evans of Latham; her father-in-law Paul Leromain; sisters-in-law Dianne Gagnon and Darlene Carroll and several nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Joanne is predeceased by Richard and Kathleen Carroll, Doris Leromain and Lois Nelligan.
A special thank you is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff of New York Oncology Hematology and the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
