Obituary of Murielle K. Rayball

MURIELLE K. RAYBALL Murielle Kennedy Rayball of Latham NY & Boynton Beach Fl entered eternal life surrounded by her loving daughters Sharon Rayball and Patti Rayball on July 8, 2021. Born in Lowell MA. in 1925 she was the daughter of Winston & Etta (Calnan) Kennedy. She was predeceased by her husband Deacon Leo B. Rayball in 1992 to whom she was married nearly 50 years and infant daughter Brenda Lee Rayball. She was also predeceased by her brother and sister -in-law Gerry and Ellen Rayball, nephew Edward LaMora, and great nephew Dereck Nolan all whom she loved dearly. After leaving Lowell, Murielle became a resident of East Hartford CT. for 20yrs before relocating to Boynton Beach Fl in 1978. From 2005 to 2019 she joined her daughters in Latham while continuing to maintain a home in Boynton Beach Florida. Murielle graduated from Lowell High School in 1943 where she was a proud member of the Girl Officers Regiment. Upon graduation during WWII, she began a 40year career with the Federal Gov. as a secretary and administrative assistant within many varied agencies, receiving numerous awards and recognition, ending her career as secretary to the Postmaster in Boca Raton Fl. Murielle loved working and enjoyed many great friendships with her coworkers. Throughout her life Murielle was an active member of her church, St. Rose, and St. Isaac Jouges in East Hartford CT. where she was president of the Tequithia Guild and a volunteer for the Sisters of Notre Dame. After moving to Florida, she became an active communicant at St. Thomas More Parish in Boynton Beach where she was a member of the Counsel of Catholic Women, Eucharist Minister and a member of the Finance Committee. For many years Murielle faithfully ministered to residents of the Manor Care Nursing Home. In Latham she was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. Murielle believed deeply in the power of prayer and had a lifelong prayerful correspondence with the cloistered order of the Sisters of Poor Clare. In the face of any obstacle her faith was her guidepost. Murielle made many dear friendships that lasted a lifetime, her generous spirit and love of life were the constant that so many people were drawn to. She was always ready for a party, cookout or any fun gathering where she would find time to have a special chat with everyone. She was a woman of style, elegance, constant good humor and unfailing faith. Murielle loved the Library and was a voracious reader. She loved the power of words and spoke many wise ones. She was a loving mother and a faithful friend, but her greatest joy was the close loving relationship of her two daughters Sharon and Patti. Murielle's bags were always ready for a trip and traveled the world with her daughters. She will be remembered for her terrific laugh, her bright and optimistic outlook on life and her interest in everyone. She maintained a very close and special relationship with her nephews and nieces " Auntie M" as she was called affectingly and will never be forgotten for her legendary "life talks". Murielle loved a good of cup of tea with at least 3 sugars, late night chats over homemade chocolate chip cookies, and watching a good movie. She enjoyed a special friendship for over 50 years with the Dermody Family and shared the joy of a "granddaughter of the heart" Cydney Terryn. Murielle was the last link to a generation that shaped the dynamics of the Rayball Family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving daughters Sharon Rayball and Patricia Rayball of Boynton Beach FL. Nephews and Nieces, Michael Rayball (Janice), Maryellen Federici (Marty), Eileen LaMora, William Rayball (Joann), Robin Nolan, Martin Rayball (Geisel), Sheila Rickets (Dan), Patrick Rayball (Barbara), many grandnieces and nephews. Wake services will be held at Boynton Memorial Chapel, Boynton Beach Fl. On July 27, with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More Church Boynton Beach on July 28th.
