Obituary of George A. Cinney

GEORGE A. CINNEY JR. Loudonville-George A. Cinney, Jr., 96 of Loudonville, beloved husband of Rita Marino Bania-Cinney, entered into eternal life on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Loudonville Home with his wife at his side. Born in Albany, on July 11, 1925, he was the son of the late George Allen and Lilian Marie (Campbell) Cinney Sr. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II from 1943 until 1946. He was the owner and operator of G.A. Cinney, Inc in Albany for many years. George was a commercial pilot and owner of his own plane. For many years he and his family enjoyed their summer home in Lake George as well as a winter home in Delray Dunes, Florida. He was an avid photographer. George was a life member of Wolferts Roost Country Club in Loudonville and a longtime communicant of St. Pius X church. Survivors include wife Rita Marino Bania Cinney, his children Christine (Edward) Farley, David Stephen (Denise) Cinney, Katherine A. Cinney, Patricia Cinney Brohm, Michael Francis Cinney, Carol Cinney (John) Oxenrieter, Joseph P. Cinney. 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his first wife Katherine "Kay" Ryan Cinney and his sons George Allen Cinney III in 1951, George Allen Cinney III in 2000 and his 4 sisters: Cecelia Cinney, Rosemary Cinney, Gloria Cinney Lawton and Dolores Lestner Cinney Horwedel.. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday August 5, 2021.at 11:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Church 23 Crumitie Rd. Loudonville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at St. Pius X Church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. til 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
