MARIE T. TRIBLEY
LATHAM - Marie T. Tribley, 96 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Charles M. Tribley, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Born in Cheshire, MA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Aurora (Payette) Brown.
Marie attended and graduated from Columbia Highschool class of 1945.
Upon graduation Marie went to work for General Electric in Pittsfield, MA as a blueprint drafter, a job that she enjoyed and was proud, as she would say "a farmgirl from Massachusetts", was able to do. Marie worked for GE until her sister Blanche fell ill with cancer and she then took on her new role as caregiver. She moved to East Greenbush to care for her sister and would raise her sister's children. It was also here that she met her husband, Charles. In 1958 Marie and Charles began a family of their own with the birth of the first child Jyl. They would go on to raise 3 other children, Charles, Colleen, and Bryan all within their family home on Park Ave in Latham, the same home where Marie would eventually pass away. She took great pride in her family's home and it is where she also babysat many children over the years.
Marie was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. She was a Past President of the Watervliet VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Marie was an avid bowler, bowling twice a week right up until a few weeks ago in the Tuesday and Thursday Senior Leagues at Latham Bowl. She will be missed by all of her dear friends whom she enjoyed spending time with while bowling. Marie's greatest joy however was her family. She loved her family with all of her heart and they will forever cherish her memory.
Survivors in addition to her four children Jyl (late James) Tribley Moore, Charles (Colleen) Tribley, Colleen (late Philip) Chestnut, and Bryan Tribley include her six grandchildren: Patrick, Ryan, Jennifer, Charles, Katerina, and Connor, as well as four great-grandchildren, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband the late Charles M. Tribley, as well as her parents Charles and Aurora (Payette) Brown, and her sister Blanche Ostrander.
