Elizabeth Dorothy (Betty) Watkinson
GLENMONT- Betty Watkinson, 97 of Glenmont, beloved wife of the late John Henry Watkinson, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 28, 2022.
Betty was born on February 27,1925 in Hollis Queens, Long Island and was the daughter of the late James Francis and Eleanor (Thomas) Burke. Betty was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and friend to her husband, eight children and many others. Her favorite activities involved anything that allowed her to be together with her family, enjoying each other's company. She worked as a seamstress for the Boston Store in Latham for many years, and continued to sew in her own business, making and selling beautiful bathrobes.
Betty is survived by her children: Mary Jane Madden of Colonie, New York; John Watkinson III of Scottsdale, Arizona; Timothy (Ellen Tanner) Watkinson of Albany, New York; Anne (Leonard) Visconti of Los Angeles, California; Christopher (Margaret) Watkinson of Beacon, New York; Paul (Jennifer) Watkinson of San Diego, California; Beth (Richard) Hartunian of Delmar, New York; and James (Sharon) Watkinson of Slingerlands, New York. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren: Sean Madden of CA, Molly Madden of TX, Wylie (Marilyn) Visconti of CA, Emmit (Kayla) Visconti of NC, Jennifer (Jonas) Concepcion of NY, Christopher (Lauren) Watkinson of ME, Oliver Watkinson of Louisiana, Adrienne (Mitchell) Harmon of NY, Joseph (Megan) Hartunian of Washington, DC, John Hartunian of IL, James Hartunian of VA, Amanda (George) Mehm of NC; and Kimberly (Ian) Luders of CO as well as her great grandchildren: James and Jack Madden, JP and John Hays,Theo, Sebastian and Julius Concepcion, Christopher, Harry, Ben and Rachel Watkinson, Sophia and Abigail Harmon.
In addition to her parents, siblings and husband, Betty was predeceased by her grandson, Kyle Patrick Madden.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family at St. Plus X Church, Loudonville with Rev. James Walsh and Rev. Kenneth Doyle officiating.
There will be no public calling hours or services.
Interment will be next to her husband John Henry (Harry) in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Community Hospice Care for their kindness and spiritual support given to their mother during her time with them.
