To the Parvana Family --
Mrs. Parvana was one of the most strikingly beautiful ladies I've ever met -- her beauty matched her sweetness.
I was fortunate to grow up in the Parvana's neighborhood, one street away and I have many memories of playing with the other kids near her home. Mrs. Parvana was just simply so very beautiful -- I remember thinking at the time, that she beautiful like Mary Tyler Moore -- my memories go back to the early 1960s. She would come out and greet the children with her signature smile and laughter.
And, Connie's mom, who lived next door to her made the best gingerbread spice cake on the planet earth -- and she always gave the kids a slice of it. Such nice memories of this family!
Later on in the early 1970s, Mr. Parvana hired an RPI engineering student to install a cassette player in his car -- that engineer became my husband and I was delighted to hear that they knew each other. Small world!
A whole generation or two later, when I moved back to Upstate New York and stopped in to visit Mr. and Mrs. Parvana, Mrs. Parvana (Connie) commented along with her lovely signature smile, that she knew the "kids" would move back home.
I hope you are aware in heaven, that we miss and love you both and hope that your mom is still baking that wonderful gingerbread cake!

Mom loved the outdoors and loved hearing about my hikes each week. I am so thankful that she was able to join me at some of my favorite hiking spots like these two photos from Jerusalem Mills, Maryland. This was a great family hike with my sister Gina and my nephews Jonathan and Matthew.
And I'll never forget my Scout Dog Daisy, who is hopefully getting treats from mom now.
