Obituary of Stephen Bobrinitz

Latham- Stephen Bobrinitz, 89 of Latham, entered into eternal life Sunday February 21, 2010 at the Teresian House in Albany where he was currently a resident.
Born July 28, 1920 in Cohoes, he was son of the late John and Tekla (Bazaar) Bobrinitz. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School class of 1939. Stephen was joined in union with the former Yolanda DeBonis on November 25, 1943. The two shared a blessed union of almost 67 years together.
At one time Stephen was the Produce Manager for the Grand Cash Markets in Troy and Albany, He then worked for the Norton Co. for 15 years as a Chemical Mixer. After working for the Norton Co. he was employed at General Electric in Schenectady for many years and lastly by Por-Tec Steel in Troy as a Grinder eventually retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192, the Italian Community Center in Troy, a former member of the K of C #2234 in Colonie and was a volunteer at Our Lady of Hope in Latham. Stephen was a longtime communicant and usher at St. Ambrose Church in Latham.
He is survived by his beloved wife; Yolanda, his loving children; Michele (Tom) McCarthy of Guilderland and Stephen John Bobrinitz of Sudbury, MA as well as his cherished grandson Timothy Patrick McCarthy of Cambridge MA., also several nieces and nephews.
Stephen was predeceased by his brothers William and Michael Bobrinitz and his sister Anne Slattery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Teresian House especially those on 4A, for their care and compassion in making it more like a home to Stephen than a house.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday February 24, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois, pastor officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Teresian House Foundation 200 Washington Ave. Ext. Albany, NY 12203 in Stephen's memory would be appreciated.
Entombment will take place in St. Mary's Mausoleum Troy.
