ARLENE M. JACKSON
LATHAM - Arlene M. Jackson, 84, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at St. Peter's Hospital, in Albany.
Arlene was born Arlene M. Boyce, September 10th, 1937 in Schenectady, daughter of the late Frank and Esther (Bernhardt) Boyce. She graduated from Draper High School in Rotterdam. Arlene was married to her former husband, Raymond Jackson, whom she met while working at GE. He predeceased her on July 15th, 2007.
Arlene worked several jobs as a hostess at local eateries including Fannie’s in Latham. She ran and was a bookkeeper at the Texaco Service Station on Route 7 in Latham as well. While Arlene enjoyed these jobs her proudest title was that of Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She was a homemaker at heart and cared for her family deeply. She rarely missed one of her boy’s baseball games or any function for that matter. She was always on the go. Arlene enjoyed crocheting afghans for family members, rooting for her New York Yankees, as well as anything to do with Mickey Mouse. She had a soft spot for animals especially and her canine companions.
In addition to her parents and former husband Arlene is predeceased by her in-laws Leo and Bertha Jackson as well as her beloved Colleen Jackson, who she considered to be a daughter of her own.
Arlene is survived by her sons Mike (Cheryl), Jeff (Debbie), and Steve; her brother Norm (Chris) Boyce; her Grandchildren: Eric, Heather (Brandon), Dakota (Cailin), Cheyenne, Chris, Brian (Brittney), and Daniel; Great-Grandchildren: Kaiden, Olivia, Sophia, Austin, Barrett, Bryson, and Wyatt. Also survived by her niece Jennifer (Lewis) and nephew Jason (Lori).
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham. A prayer service will immediately follow the calling period at 1:00pm with Rev. Brian Kelly of St. Ambrose Church officiating. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
