ETHEL EMMA JANNITTO
Latham-Ethel Emma Jannitto, 93 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Peter L. Jannitto, peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the home of her daughter Kristin and son-in-law Richard Woodward (Dick Wood) in Latham, where she has resided for the last 2 years.
Born in Silver Hill, AL, she was the daughter of the late Hjalmar and Emma (Anderson) Erlandson. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter L. Jannitto for 69 years prior to his passing. Ethel and her husband had resided in Warren, RI for many years.
Survivors include her cherished children Peter L. and his wife Elizabeth Jannitto, Arthur A. Jannitto, Monica J. Goodwin, Kristin L. Woodward and her husband Richard, Mark E. and his wife Darcy Jannitto. Ethel is also survived by her six cherished grandchildren, six great grandchildren as well as her brother Joseph Erlandson and wife Sally of Loxley, AL, sister in law Mafalda O'Rourke of Warren, RI, and several nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the United States. Ethel was also predeceased by two siblings and a granddaughter.
Ethel was a Librarian, employed by the George HaileFree Library in Warren, RI, for over 37 until retiring in 2003 at the age of 86. She was the heart and soul of her family. Ethel will be remembered for her inner and outer beauty, her patience, her caring for others and her sense of humor. Ethel loved nature, gardening and had an endless curiosity about life.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Hospice team and volunteers, especially Bonnie Zapollo, Antoinette Nobles, Danielle Lane, Joel Janzo, Cathy Gurney, Rick Amico, Charlie Hughes, Cindy Allen and Dr. Scher and Dr. Sharma.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 5, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral
Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
Interment will be in Warren RI.
