Obituary of Ruth Anne Dennehey
RUTH ANNE DENNEHEY
LATHAM - Ruth Anne Bowmaker-Dennehey, 67of Latham, after a courageous and valiant battle against breast cancer, has flown home. She was born and raised in Albany, NY on September 2, 1954, to Norman J. Bowmaker and Shirley L. Green-Bowmaker. Ruth went to Hackett Middle school and Albany High school, graduating in 1972.
Ruth worked for many years as a Secretary with the firm Couch, White, Brenner, Howard and Fiegenbaum LLC and later made a career as manager of Colby Attorney Services Corporation.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael Dennehey, siblings Marc (Annie) Bowmaker, Mary (Kurt) Schlachter, Edward Bowmaker, and Brenda Bowmaker-Leslie, and nieces Kimberly Bowmaker-Sala and Laurie Bowmaker-S. Johnson. Ruth was Great-Aunt to Emelia and Alex Sala and Sam Skinner.
She is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Shirley Bowmaker and Fran Green-Panetta.
Ruth loved to laugh and make people laugh. She loved her family and friends very much. She had a special sense of humor that made life fun and took away your worries and troubles. To Ruth nothing was insurmountable and all would be fine, as we are all in God's hands. Her faith helped to ease her final journey to take her place with God. Ruth was a member of First Congregational Church and sang with the choir for many years until she could no longer see and her illness overcame her.
At her request services will be held at First Congregational Church, 405 Quail St., Albany, NY 12208. There will be a memorial service on September 17, 2022 that will begin at 10:00am. The church doors will open at 9:00am for those wishing to pay their respects. A time to reminisce will be held after her service at the Century House. All are welcome.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home.
