Obituary of James Kenny Gregory
ALBANY - James Kenny Gregory, 67 of Albany, died unexpectedly at his home on May 14, 2023. He was the son of the late Edward J. and Alice K. Gregory, Jr. Born and raised in Albany, he graduated from Cardinal McCloskey Memorial High School & the State University of New York at Albany, with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. During his time at both schools, he excelled in baseball and was heavily scouted by the NY Mets.
Jim had brief careers at Parsons Child & Family Center, NYS Education Department and the US Postal Service. He was a life-long fan of the NY Yankees, Notre Dame Football and proud of his Irish heritage.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law John E. and Karen Gregory. He is survived by his sister Patricia Gadani (Michael). Also surviving are his beloved niece and nephews Gregory, Kevin and Anthony Gadani, Heather (Robert) Johnson and great-nephew Brady Edward Johnson, all of whom he happily tutored in the skills of baseball and attended every game from Little League through travelling leagues and college. In the last two years he started again, following every T-ball game of his great-nephew, Brady. Jim is also survived by several cousins, friends and neighbors.
Jim faced many challenges in his adult life, but his daily prayers and faith never wavered. We pray that his burdens have been lifted, at last, and he has found perfect peace in God's loving arms.
