TERRANCE J. NORRIS

COHOES- Terrance J. Norris of Columbia Street, Cohoes, beloved husband of Marjorie (Wade) Norris, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by loving family on June 3, 2023.

Terry was born July 12th 1935 in Troy and was the son of the late Paul J. and Muriel (Cross) Norris. He married Margie Wade on November 26th, 1955.

Terry graduated from Heatly High School in Green Island, Class of 1953. He would later be inducted into their Basketball Hall of Fame. Terry spent the majority of his career as a Tower Foreman, employed by the John A. Manning Paper Mill in Green Island. He dedicated twenty-five years here before retiring in 1997. Throughout his life, he was also employed by St. Pius X School in Loudonville, DeLollo Hardware in Watervliet, and Biondo Associates in Albany.

Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. His acts of service through his dedication to the Columbia Crest Community, where he served as association president and volunteered in multiple capacities, will forever be remembered. He could often be found caring for others whether through driving residents to appointments, cooking meals, or organizing events. He will be eternally cherished by all of those whose lives he touched.

Survivors include his beloved wife Margie and their children, Terri Ann (Daniel) Mandel, Shawn Norris, Laura (Bob) Treacy, and Wayde (Maralee) Norris. Also survived by grandchildren, Erica, Jason, Nicole, Jessica, Nikee, Malynda, Terra, Wayde II, Daniel, Aaron, and Connor, as well as ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his late parents Terry was predeceased by his daughter Paula A. Norris-Cole, grandson Branden, great-grandson Zachary, and sister Chyrel Kelsey.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately at the request of Terry's family.
