Obituary of Diamantina Loupessis Tralongo
DIAMANTINA LOUPESSIS TRALONGO
GUILDERLAND – Diamantina "Tina" Loupessis Tralongo, 57, beloved wife of John B. Tralongo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 12th, 1966 in Syosset, NY she was the daughter of Athena (Speliotis) and the late Alexander Loupessis, longtime proprietors of the Latham 76 Diner, where Tina spent many years managing the family business. Tina spent her early childhood in Brentwood, NY prior to her family relocating to the Albany area. Tina was a graduate of the Albany Academy for Girls, class of 1984 and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Union College. Ever a great student, she was actively involved in playing tennis, theatre, and participated in many pageant competitions. She will forever be remembered as a woman of talent, intelligence, and grace.
Tina was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and cherished friend to many. She shared her passion for travel with her family, particularly to her mother and father's homeland of Greece. Tina and John shared thirteen years together, marrying in 2016. They shared a great love for each other as well as for their respective families. She was blessed with her first grandchild, Madeline Diamantina, born to her daughter, Chloe, and her son-in-law, Matthew, a day before her passing on July 15th.
In addition to her father, Alexander Loupessis, Tina is predeceased by her aunt Aphrodite "Thea".
She is survived by her devoted husband John Tralongo, her mother Athena Loupessis, her children Daniel Mahoney and Chloe (Matthew) Hickey, newborn granddaughter Madeline Diamantina Hickey, brother Antony (Jane) Loupessis, stepson John Tralongo, mother-in-law Antoinette Tralongo, as well as several aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 20th, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 21st, 2023, 10:00 AM at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Rd., Albany. Interment to immediately follow in the family plot of Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
