Obituary of Kathleen A. "Kay" Lynch
KATHLEEN A. LYNCH
LATHAM - Kathleen Ann "Kay" (Richmond) Lynch, 87 of Latham, beloved wife of 67 years to the late William Carl Lynch, was called to the eternal gates of Heaven on Friday, October 6, 2023.
Born on November 26, 1935 in Latham, she was the daughter of the late Almeron and Helen (Buckley) Richmond.
Kay graduated from Catholic Central High School, Class of 1953. She married Carl and began devoting her energies to her family and homemaking. She later began her career at Albany Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk and worked her way up to head of the Unit Secretary Department. Upon retirement she spent her time creating ceramic novelties, shopping, gambling, playing cards and bingo, and dancing with her sweetheart. Her devotion to Friday "Girl's Night Out" was a tradition for decades with her female family members, especially her best friend and beloved sister Marion.
Kay's gift was her smile and warm, loving personality. She was truly a kindhearted soul who found great pleasure in helping others. However, nothing made Kay happier than spending time with her beloved family.
Kay is survived by her loving children William C. Lynch Jr., David (Lisa) Lynch, Tim (Cheryl) Lynch, Sharon (Joseph) Sensi, and Jim (Irene) Lynch, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Marion (late George) Acker, brother Paul (Janice) Richmond, along with many other loving family and friends.
In addition to her beloved late husband, Carl, and her parents, Kay is predeceased by her siblings Helen (late Gerald) Schleich, Robert (late Mickey) Richmond, Almeron (Elizabeth) Richmond, and Thomas (late Noreen) Richmond.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd., Latham with Rev Geoffrey Burke, celebrant.
