Patricia Anne Pinho
POESTENKILL - Patricia Anne (Akin) Pinho, 62 of Poestenkill, NY, beloved wife, mother and sister, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023 surrounded by her family and friends.
Born on March 15, 1961 on United States Air Force Base Zaragoza in Zaragoza, Spain she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mary Ellen (Burke) Akin Sr., USAF.
Patty was the loving wife of Mark and proud mother of Brandon, Jon, and her faithful dog Tucker. She was a blessing not only to her family, but everyone who met her. She dedicated her life to others especially those she cared for as a nurse for over 30 years. Patty always fought for what she believed to be right and just, spending the final years of her career with NYSNA, advocating for better working conditions for her fellow nurses.
Patty is survived by her husband Mark Pinho, her two sons Brandon Michael Pinho and Jonathon Thomas Pinho, her brothers and sisters Mary Anne Akin, James (Lynn) Akin, Cathy (Kevin) Akin, Frances Malaito, Joseph (Marie) Akin Jr., Martin (Kim) Akin, Chris Akin, her twin Tom (Kathy) Akin, Ed Akin, Maureen Gavin, Robert Akin, and Carol (Jake) Ryan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Lorie Pinho. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved niece Melissa.
Patty's family would like to thank all those that cared for her and helped make this very difficult time easier. You know who you are.
Family and friends of Patty's and all who knew her are invited to call on Monday, October 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 175 Willams Road, Troy, NY. The Nurse Honor Guard of the Capital Region will render the Nightingale Tribute beginning at 6:45 PM. The funeral mass celebrating Patty's life will be held on Tuesday, October 31 at 9:30 am at St Michael's followed by a memorial dove release.
