My sweet Nancy.. I am at loss for words. I just found out that my dear friend was gone more than a month ago. I am so glad that we made many memories both in Cohoes NY as neighbors and in Seattle, WA. I will never forget Nancy’s smiling face and eyes. My heart is broken for Mike. My condolences to the whole family. She will always be in my heart.

I spent the first 17 years of my life as friend and neighbor to Nancy. We were first friends to each other from our days when our moms pushed us around in baby carriages.
We played games together in our Seitz Drive and Dennis Lanes neighborhood. Year after year after year we played kickball and other games.
We went to school at John H. West elementary together from K to 6 and then to Southedge JHS followed by Sylvia Packard JHS. Finally going to High School at Plainedge High School and graduating in 1969.
Shortly after we went our separate ways. It was about 5 or 6 years ago we re- connected on Facebook. Nancy seemed not to be the effervescent personality she was as a young lady. Our contact was usually short and brief. I did not know if she was ill then but I’m assuming now that she was.
I was so pleased to see Nancy at our 50 th High School reunion in 2019. We reminisced about our old days as youths. In all our years as friends we never had a cross word between us.
I had hoped after the reunion that we would meet again at the next reunion. Though that will never happen I will always cherish the one short evening we reunited.
I am happy to now know that Nancy had a good life with a wonderful husband and a loving family. I will always have my first friend in my heart until my end days.

We will cherish our time with Nancy and Mike who we first met out walking in our development 6 years ago. Who knew we would click and bond so deeply! Our time together was loving warm and special to all of us. Several fond memories including riding a golf cart on Dufuskie Island one January, several summer Lobster dinners, backyard happy hours and many, many walks. And always with quality conversations and laughter! We will remember her bravery and courage along with Mike’s ever loving support and tenderness. Remembering our visit with both of them in early November, we will hold tightly to the memories, so grateful for that special time with both.
