Obituary of Marian R. Corbett
MARIAN R. CORBETT
Watervliet - Marian R. Corbett, 69 of Watervliet, passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born in Troy on October 19, 1954, she was the daughter of the late John J. and the Rita F. (Hogan) Corbett. She was a graduate of Russell Sage College where she received her Master's Degree.
Marian was employed with the NYS Department of General Services in Albany as a Purchasing Officer, retiring in 2011 after 14 years of dedicated service. Prior to that she was the Energy Conservation Program Specialist at the NYS Energy Office for 13 years and at one time she taught in Parochial Schools for 5 years. After retirement Marian continued work as a dedicated substitute teacher at North Colonie Schools as well as St. Ambrose School in Latham. Marian was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Menands.
She is survived by her siblings: John J. (Karen) Corbett II, Rita A. (William) Fahr, and Edward J. (Karen) Macken, as well as her 4 nephews: Christopher, John and Matthew Corbett, William Fahr and her niece Margaret Fahr. Also survived by many cousins both here, in the US, as well as in Ireland.
In keeping with Marian's wishes there will be no public visitation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 12th, 2024, 9:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 76 Menand Road, Menands. Interment to immediately follow the mass in the family plot of St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Assoc., 2 Pine West Plaza, Washington Ave Ext. Suite 204, Albany, NY 12205 or to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
Marian's family wishes to acknowledge the dedicated members of the Watervliet Fire Department, staff at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, St. Peter's Hospital in Albany and all of the doctors, nurses, and healthcare staff that compassionately cared for her over the years.
