CECILIA U. TAMETA

ALBANY - Cecilia Urbina Tameta, 75, of Albany, NY, beloved wife of Renato V. Tameta, passed away on February 16, 2024.

Born in Makati, Philippines, Cecilia was the daughter of the late Carlos and Olimpia Urbina. She earned a bachelor's degree from University of Santo Tomas and master's degree from Long Island University.

Cecilia was an incredibly hardworking and dedicated professional. For over 30 years, she worked as a medical technologist for Samaritan, North Shore, and St. Mary's Hospitals. Afterwards she worked at Computer Sciences Corporation. Even after retirement, she volunteered and worked part-time at St. Peter's Health Partners.

Cecilia valued serving others and was an active member of local parishes, including Holy Trinity in Cohoes and St. Pius X in Loudonville. Cooking and baking was how she showed her love and friendship.

Cecilia is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Renato; her two children Brian and Kristina; her daughter-in-law Jacqueline; her granddaughter Avery; her siblings Escolastica, Efren, Manolito, and Purificacion, and her nieces and nephews who knew her as Tita Baby.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd., Loudonville. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12:30 pm; Rev. James Walsh, celebrant. Interment and Rite of Committal will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Pius X charity campaign, Change for Change 2024.
