MARY FRANCES VADNEY
RAVENA - Mary Frances Vadney, 77 of Ravena, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, in Albany.
Born in Rensselaer, NY, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Dorothea M. (Rogers) Vadney.
Mary worked, among other things, as a registered nurse. She graduated from the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing and went on to devote a long and commendable career to caring for others. She also held a degree from the Culinary Institute of America in Poughkeepsie along with several other certificates in various areas of study. She operated a Ski Slope in Colorado while also dedicating her time as a nurse. Mary was recruited during the Vietnam War to serve as a flight nurse, caring for the injured. She was an avid big game hunter and guide yet she was also a lover of all animals and found joy and contentment in learning new ways to heal and care for them. Mary was a constant learner and always up for a challenge. She will forever be remembered for her strength, ambition, and devotion to her family and friends whom she considered family.
