JOHN A. RICHMOND
Latham - John A. Richmond, 81 of Latham, beloved husband of Helen Dyer Richmond for over 57 years entered into eternal life on Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Alfred E. and Adelaide (Koonmen) Richmond. John was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. He served his country during the Korean Conflict the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Upon his discharge from the Army he married his love Helen D. Dyer on April 11, 1953. John worked as a truck driver and warehouseman in the wholesale food industry for over 40 years and retired in 1987. He was a lifelong resident of Latham and lifelong communicant of St. Ambrose Church where he served as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister for many years. John was a former Cub Master in Latham cub pack #62 and a Scout Master in Troup #98 in the 1970's. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1256 in Loudonville.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his son John D. Richmond, he was the brother of William J. Richmond of Florida, Alfred G. Richmond of Albany and Adelaide McCullough of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a time to be announced in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home at a time to be announced.
Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
