GLORIA M. SLOAN
Latham- Gloria Mary Sloan, 86 of Latham, beloved wife of the late Frank O. Sloan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 14, 2011
Born in Mechanicville on December 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Mae (Walsh) Conway. She was married to Frank O. Sloan and the two shared a blessed union of 50 years prior to his passing in 2002.
Gloria was the Owner & Director of the Conway Sisters Dance Studio in Latham since 1942. She was a very devout woman and was involved with the Rosary Society at Our Lady of Fatima Church and the Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. Joseph's Provincial House. Gloria was a communicant for many years at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham. One of her favorite things was her annual class reunion with her classmates and friends from Mechanicville High School, Class of 1942.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Luann Wilson of Guilderland, Laurie(Keith) Kotecki of Niskayuna & Leah Lenihan of Clifton Park, as well as her 6 cherished grandchildren: Peter & Ashley Lonardelli, Lauren (Chad) Pirro, Keith & Brielle Kotecki & Alanna Wilson and 2 great grandchildren: Jenna & Lincoln Lonardelli. She is also survived by her sister Jane (Conway) Welch and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Gloria is predeceased by her 4 brothers: John, Albert, William & Robert Conway.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, Ltd., 149 Old Loudon Rd.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Our Lady of the Assumption Memorial Fund 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110
Interment will take place in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
